Awards and Achievements

Nesbitt Contracting Co., Inc. was named Arizona Public Works Contractor of the Year by the American Public Works Association in 1986 and in 1993. The 1986 award was received for the Mill Avenue Streetscape prior to the Papal visit to Tempe. The 1993 award was for the improvement of Idaho Road in Apache Junction from Apache Trail to U.S. 60 (Superstition Freeway).

The company has also won numerous awards for excellence in employee safety by Arizona Rock Products Association, Associated General Contractors, Federal Mine Safety and Health Administration, State Mine Inspector and other associations and agencies.

United Way has recognized Nesbitt Contracting with one gold award, two silver awards, and one bronze award for employee and corporate contributions. The company is active in ARRA (Asphalt Reclaiming and Recycling Association), AGC, East Valley Partnership, and other community, civic, and trade organizations.
